Call for submissions of products and construction methods from our partner project ReBau.
The call is addressed to material and product manufacturers, planners and designers. You are invited to apply for participation in the ReBAU exhibition.
Deadline for applications: 15 October 2021
We are looking for products and construction methods that enable resource-saving and circular building. This includes building products/parts and construction solutions made from renewable and secondary raw materials as well as reused products. Constructions should be designed in such a way that they are available over further life cycles.
Selected products and constructions will be presented to the general public at the ReBAU trade fair in early 2022. Exhibitors will have the opportunity to present their construction products and methods in short presentations of five minutes.
A follow-up promotion of your product or construction method will take place in the form of an assessment according to Factor X principles commissioned by the ReBAU project. Furthermore, products will be categorised according to the circularity criteria of the EMMy mini Library of the Institute for Recyclable Construction of the RWTH. This gives you the opportunity to position your product competitively for the future.
Factor X assessment principles: Raw material input, non-recycled extraction during raw material extraction, GWP and energy consumption (PENRT). Information at www.faktor-x.info

Auxiliary scientists (HiWis) wanted!
For our rb team, we are looking for reinforcement by a motivated HiWi (f:m) from October 2021 (8h/week). Are you studying for a Master's degree in architecture and are you interested in resource-saving and environmentally friendly building?
Ideally, you have already completed a course at our institute (e.g. IGP) and would like to deepen your knowledge. The activities include graphic preparation of content, research and support at conferences or exhibitions. We look forward to receiving your application at email@example.com.Copyright: © https://www.monster.de/karriereberatung/artikel/tabellarischer-lebenslauf-bewerbung-architekt
//Exciting job as student assistant//
The Energiebüro vom Stein is looking for a student assistant to start as soon as possible. It pursues the integral approach of combining competences in building services engineering and building physics of energy-efficient buildings with the use of renewable energies. There is also the possibility of a Master's thesis and subsequent permanent employment.
The range of tasks includes supporting the building physics department in the creation of 3D models, on-site surveys, preparation of sound and heat insulation certificates and dealing with current evaluation methods of sustainable building.
Application documents by e-mail to Mr Jörg vom Stein fh@energiebuero-vomStein.de.
Webinar 'Reinventing the Building Sector'
Invitation to the webinar series "Reinventing the Building Sector: Resources in Architecture".
A comprehensive and holistic resource and climate protection is becoming more and more important in the building sector. A shift from pure energy savings during usage phase towards a resourceefficient and circualar construction industry along the whole lifecycle of a building needs a fundamental rethinking. The transition towards a 'circular economy'reduces CO2 emissions, raw material consumption and primary energy requirements in the construction sector to a minimum. Some planners already have taken that path and implemented circualrity aspects in their projects which serve as an archetype for a new building culture. The ReBAU project is planning a digital excursion to visit some buildings which are made of renewable, reused and recyclable materials in Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands. We are glad if you join us on that journey on the:
04.02.21 I 17.30 – 18.45
'Reinventing the Region: Building with local, renewable raw materials' (in German)
Buildings made of renewable raw materials such as wood are among the oldest construction methods and have the advantage that they save CO2 emissions, create a healthy indoor climate and, due to the local availability of their natural materials, prevent global conflicts such as those over fossile fuels.

'Reinventing the Present: Urban Mining in the Netherlands and Belgium' (in English)
We can find countless materials in our cites, their recovery is becoming increasingly attractive. "Urban Mining" offers a change of perspective: the built environment and its secondary raw material supply offer opportunieties to be reused or recycled.

04.03.21 I 17.30 – 18.45
'Reinventing the Future: Design for disassembly' (in English with German translation)
Designing buildings in such a way, that they can be disassembled into individual components at the end of a buildings life cycle and reused, hence producing no waste, is the main principe of "Design for Disassembly".

Event Robust building-Illusion or necessity?
Aktivplus e. V. is a non-profit and independent association that acts as a network and discussion platform in the context of climate-neutral buildings. The topics range from large-scale urban and neighbourhood strategies to building concepts for new and existing buildings. The focus is on technical systems as well as requirements for comfort and practicability. The current social debate presents architecture and the building industry with major challenges and opportunities. In addition to the question of "How much technology will the house of the future need" or "CO2 per capita kWh per m² the measure of efficiency", the topic of robustness in construction is currently the focus of the discourse. In this thematic context, the association aktivplus e.V. is organising a symposium on 12th of November 2019 which will focus on the question "Robust building - illusion or necessity?
